Marie Poux-Berthe

Marie is a PhD Candidate in the Organization Studies and Cultural Theory Doctoral Programme in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of St. Gallen. She is also a PhD Research Assistant on the Human Error Project in the MCM Institute. Marie holds a BA and MA in Communication and Media from the Audencia Business School (Nantes, FRANCE). Her master thesis on internal communication and family businesses received the Jury award of the Belgian Association of internal communication (ABCI) in March 2019. Marie worked as project manager in a digital communication agency and as research assistant on research projects relating to the field of politics and social media, including an analysis of Facebook’s role in the 2017 French presidential elections, assisting Professor Karolina Koc-Michalska for three years.

Her PhD research is concerned with the relationship between visions and understandings of technologies and the western construction of old age and ageing. As part of the Human Error Project Marie is exploring critical questions about misconstruction of what it means to be human with referencing to the process of ageing and ageist algorithmic bias
